Thanks for all the replys fellas. I'm pretty handy with a mig so not worried about that at all. I think I'll shop around and see if I can find any panels that are in the same repair vain as the bulkhead tops. Really, I'm just looking at getting it through the dreaded mot, so pretty ain't an issue!! Once I've found / fabricated some I'll show you all how I got on.
Check back tomorrow for a masterclass in door repair!!

Before and after (okay, so it's a Series but you get the idea)

So, looks like it's going to be another cut, chop rebuild then! Thanks guys. I'll let you all know how I get on.

Mine is a sykes pickavant one. The trick is to:
  • centre punch
  • Keep the replacable centres sharpened
  • Use lots of cutting oil
Miss out any of the above & thery're a pain in the *
Cheers chap - I've still got to finish the Series bulkhead so there's gonna be more cutting/drilling/grinding/welding in the not too distant future.

Did you look at the first link in post #3 ?;)

Nope...have now tho. I got my footwell from them and was impressed. But if i remember correctly, they didn't do door pillars at that time as they were just starting out. Would defo use them again.
