Swear i i've seen on the forums that some very nice member posting up pic on how to remove and refit a clutch and gearbox in freelander 1, i just can not find it now has it been deleted ?

Not seen one on-line (but then i've never looked!) but there was a step by step guide in the Aug 2012 issue of LRW which showed Nene doing it on a TD4.
It doesn't replace a workshop manual (I take it you have a Haynes or genuine manual?) but you could order a back issue as it shows how involved it is (moreso without a lift).

Some pics I took when doing mine but I found RAVE was pretty much spot on

Have fun - its not a difficult job but there are lots of bits to remove and getting the gearbox on and off (mainly on) is a bit of a pain - you will need 2 people or an engine hoist to take the weight whilst you position it.
