strange request, i know but does anyone have a picture of a 2007 defender engine they can post?
reason i ask is because i am a (very non-technical) owner of one and am wondering if a cap/lid has come off..... i cant tell you which part of mine it is because i dont know the name (yes i realise i sound like a complete idiot..... ) Its a circular hole about half the way back on the left hand side of the plastic engine top cover. Its just that there is a big hole there that i seem sure was covered up before. at least i think it was.......

anyway, i would post a picture of what i mean to show (a picturte being a 1000 words and all) but its just too dark to take one when i get in from work!

Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
:D

It's not meant to be covered up and i can't remember the reason for this. Everyone says it makes a good cup holder for the mechanics but it's not a funny joke and it's getting quite long in the tooth.

Oh right! cheers for this.
i couldnt figure where the 'lid' would have popped off to, i checked all around as i figured it would have got caught behind pipes/wires instead of falling straight though. As i couldnt find it i thought maybe it had.
i ran my fingers round the inside of the hole, and there seemed to be some kind of pegs which i figured a lid would screw onto.... (maybe i thought!)
Cheers for answering this- maybe i should get round to fixing real probs with the vehicle- cd player is dying and passenger door only opens 60% of the time from the remote keylock.....lol!

tek a photo of yer engine and weel ave a looksie, its only an oversize transit injin anyhoo
