Is the bull bar on Y747 HCH freelander anchored to the front bumper/crash structure as well as fixed at the bottom?

yes, its fixed straight through the bumper to the crash pad behind, unfortunately there was no fitting kit and little time so its lower than it should be but its properly fitted and secure
 
It was at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon. They had a classic Land Rover weekend on. The Freelander Owners Club put on a meeting. There were more Freelanders than the rest put together.
