Yeah the army actually do but I haven't seen one driving around like this that isn't army though

I would of thought that would give a problem with cooling.

but , hey ho, you live a nd learn.

The MOD were cracking injector lines with bonnet mounted spares, hence why they mount them on the side.

Any body know if I can get a swing a way carrier that does not need the tailgate to be converted from drop down to swing? As I want to keep the drop down tailgate.

They are designed to work with a drop down tailgate :) They mount to the rear tub/chassis on the RH side and are held shut by the LH antiluce catch that holds your tailgate closed.

To open you undo the LH antiluce catch and swing the wheel carrier out then undo the RH catch and drop the tailgate down.

There is a wire strap that stops the wheel carrier opening too far and hitting the neighbours house/car/nosey child

A few piccys here to help my rambling explanation but I don't recommend buying from Nene Overland http://www.neneoverland.co.uk/4x4_storage_security/4x4_storage_security.php
