Hi all, my latest challenge is to repair drippy tank, all important for saving fuel!!
It leaks when the nose points up hill, can't really see where from, so obviously need to get it off! there are 4 bolts? and... breather pipe, sender unit, outlet pipe, anything else? and once off.. how do I check I have sealed all leaks? will give it good clean, and weld, or fill with something.. any suggestions welcome with gratitude. I would rather fix than replace! due to small income! and large outgoings. many thanks.

DO NOT WELD IT. It will blow up and kill you. Find the leak and then seal it with PetroPatch, available from most motor parts factors.

No, not even when empty. there are still residual highly inflammable fumes in there. If you can't get PetroPPatch at your local factors, go on line. Someone will have it somewhere. I've used it many times with great success over the last 40 years.

Well said Cabbie, I was going to advise the same. I know of a guy who blew his face off welding a petrol tank. Remember, its not the petrol that burns, its the vapour.
