What are everyones thoughts on paying out for a diesel range rover these days what with all the diesel hating that is going on?
Im looking to buy a 2012 for about 25k, either a Vogue se 4.4 diesel or the 5.0 supercharged autobiography, i dont do that many miles anymore so the MPG of the petrol version doesn't really bother me as i drive a 5.0ltr V8 mercedes at the moment and get 19mpg.
i live in frimley/ farnborough which is 36 miles outside of London and dont ever drive into london.

Im worried that if i buy the diesel, the government will introduce even more tax on it and in 3 years time it wont be worth scrap.
On autotrader there are loads of diesels for sale but only a handfull of petrols and even less that i actually like the look of.

So do i sit tight until the 5.0 supercharged car of my dreams comes up or take my pick of the diesels.????

5.0 SC will be my next car if I can afford one. My only worry is that the timing chain service has been done which I have heard about

It looks like you know the answer , as your post seems to answer the question.

Only you can answer the question. But I seriously doubt diesels will be taxed out. Not when most of the Nation drives them. Would hardly be a sound move for a political party to stay in power.
