Hi everyone,
It's my first post so please be gentle.
Looking at buying my first land rover at the mo.
Preferably a series 111.
My question is, as a fella with limited mechanical knowledge which would be easier to tinker with, Petrol or Diesel?

All input welcome please

in olduns I think there's less to worry about with derv.. but then I wouldn't be without my V8 ... buy the one you want and you'll enjoy looking after it well enough not to worry if it is easier or harder than another one..

diesel.
less electrics and tougher than a petrol

Thanks for the replies lads.
I really don't have a preferance.
The Petrol's extra bit of power would be nice but on the other hand I'm self employed so can claim back all my diesel receipts.
And i'm guessing at the rate these yolks drink juice "free" diesel is a no brainer.

It is far far easier to claim mileage by the way and a lot easier to prove to the tax man! Diesel or not though, it will make no difference to your accounts when claiming back receipts!

True, but a petrol is the second slowest thing on the road, beaten in lack of speed only by a diesel. Get a petrol!!
