why the f... do people in classifieds for Range Rovers put Jeep in..

'this Jeep is fully loaded...'

'a well specced and maintained Jeep...'

'I've owned this Jeep for x years...'

its not a f..... ing Jeep Its a Range Rover.. manufactured by Land Rover.

I mean seriously.. WTF. would these people advertise a Porsche and call it a Datsun ?

it really yanks several yards of barbed wire through my sphincter

I take you feel quite strongly about the use of the word J..P?
Stress is bad for you :(

nb: +1 re. Henry's avatar, reduces stress levels when reading about J..Ps on this forum

But I'm sure I read somewhere the original Jeep was based on a British chassis. Certainly, the original designing company, Bantam, had previously been building Austin vehicles under licence.

Can we add a subsection to that act? Namely calling any model Range Rover , but mostly the L322, a Vogue or as some insist , a Vouge.

As for the argument that is always rolled out that J**p was copied by Land Rover ,; just because something starts as a copy, does not mean the original remains the better of the two. Think of all those Japanese 'copies' of 1970s British cars.

Wasn't really a copy of a jeep anyway, they just used a willys chassis for the prototypes as far as I understand it.
