Any help please ?
Year 2000 P38 Range Rover diesel.
I cannot get the passenger side window to go up. The drivers window still operates but it makes a nasty "clacking" noise when it gets to the top of the door. I dont know if these 2 things are connected.
I have had this problem with the passenger window before and always got it to go up by doing the "lazy locking" i.e. 2 presses on the remote fob. Now this doesnt work at all.
Any help or suggestions gratefully received.
Many thanks.

Passenger window. Window control button not making contact. Damp on outstation interface white plug behind lower trim panel passenger side at base of A post. Drivers door is gears on window regulator failing.

If the window doesn't go up with Lazy Locking, check fuses. Could be a wiring fault where the loom flexes going into door, a connector problem in the door, or a failure of the motor. Is the underside of the carpet wet in the drivers footwell? Drivers side is, as Wammers said regulator gone, that's the teeth worn off the gear.

Thanks very much indeed Datatek and Wammers. Very kind of you to take the trouble to reply. Will now investigate further !
Many thanks.

So did you find the fault?

Another possible is if the outstation clicks when pressing the button it could be corrosion on a pin on the connector block to the BECM.

I had that problem with mine. Window went down one day and that was that!

Click click click from the outstation, but no workie...o_O Eventually found one green pin on the BECM socket for the plug that fed the windows.

Mouse tail file cleaned it and no window bother since.
