I just wanted to share the good news.
My faithful 1996 4.6 HSE has made it through another MOT.
One advisory, drag link closest to the steering box has some excess play.

Ordered a new one ready to fit once I can find the time. Gone for the full drag link (instead of just the end) as I suspect if one end is starting to wear the other end will not be too far behind. Also treating her to a new steering damper and antiroll bar drop links.

Next job in the next couple of weeks a transmission service.
Any tips on good deals for dexron III ATF? I guess I need about 5-6 litres. If I get a little more then I will change the transfer box fluid too.

Cheers

Opie oils or Eurocarparts for the oil..

Elf Elfmatic is good stuff with a good VI for the price when compared to stupidly expensive shyte..

around 5 litres for the gearbox and 2.5 for the transfer box.

Good news with the mOT pass, always nice to have a years ticket.

Dexron 3 all day long In the gearbox and transfer.
Do your diffs as well if you haven't already or at least check level and quality. ;)

Used Dexron 3 in both of mine. No problems so far and that was 2yrs ago
Always nice to get a MOT pass. Gives me that warm glow inside

Congratulations on your MoT, that feeling never changes. Lots of hard work in the background I’m sure.
Tricky :)
