Chaps,

this parts dvd works fine from my works machine (windows XP)
But it wont run on my windows 7 machine at home, adobe acrobat reader keeps having a hissy fit with it.

i cant open the pdf documents on the dvd seperatley as they are protected (

anyone else had this issue and overcome it?

The dvd is very gfood, it has owners, workshop and full parts manuals and diagrams...so i need it!

I had the same issue, no joy. Found a seller on ebay selling the manuals that included my year (the free ones I found online were a few years older than my 110 and I was worried something could have changed) and it seems good. I'll pm you details.

have you tried running the program in compatibility mode-may just play or older acrobat in compatibility mode

yep tried both the executables on disc in compatability mode, strange thing is some of the pages worked and then nothing, uninstalled adobe 9.3 and loaded adobe 8...no avail.
Think I'll wipe adobe from comp later and load acrobat reader 6 and give that a wiz....

failing that I'll just have to look at me parts manual in my lunchbreak at work )

Yeah, same behaviour I had. I read it doesn't work on Vista, but even on XP is was a royal pain I found... can't just open the pdf I want... need to wait for their screens to load and fade in and all that ****.

You won't get these CD-ROMs to work under Vista or Windows7, the copy protection on them is not compatible with either OS

They use a copy protection called Hexalock, which also stops you just reading the individual .pdf files from the disc, you have to run the front-end program from the original CD-ROM to access any of the files.

There's some info on Hexalock and a workaround/fix/fiddle/crack detailed on these threads on the MyCE (Club CDFreaks) forum -

Hexalock 4.0 - Club MyCE

hexalock - Club MyCE

I haven't got around to trying it yet, but some on there are claiming success.

Joe,

I've PM'ed you.

I've just remembered  - Back in January, a kind chap on another forum sent me a 'fixed' acrobat.exe file, that's supposed to create un-encrypted copies of individual .pdf files from these Hexalock'ed discs.

I haven't tried it yet, but this has reminded me and spurred me on to give it a go ASAP ;)
