I hi i must be missing something where do yous all get the parts nos from surely you dont know them off by heart. What's the book called it would make it easier ordering parts

There are several free pdf version online of the horribly overpriced amazon offering, but it depends on the age of your vehicle as they tend to be for the older models.

I swear by LR Workshop online - fab resource, kept my project going too many times to mention
 
Keep an eye on eBay, I picked up an entire dealer parts catalogue for defenders upto 300tdi.

It’s about 4 inches thick and is basically 68million exploded diagrams of every part and how it fits. Cost about £10 ish a few year back. Been invaluable.
