I have the opportunity to buy a full disco 200tdi with 150k on clock. Still just in mot for £500.
Good buy?

I plan to get it for spares for my 200tdi converted 110.

What parts can I keep?
- engine and auxs
- gearbox and transfer
- axles

Always found that odd as they use standard axle on disco and RR.

Guess it's to do with load carrying as all can tow same weight

Transfer box will perhaps have wrong ratios in it too

Axles should be the same, it would be the springs not rated for the weight. I would have thought, simply because axles are unsprung weight.

110 will have the stronger Salisbury axle rather than a Rover one.

Good buy. Engine and auxs worth that axles might be 10 spline so nothing special unless ya run 10s I did the same and scrapped the body and chassis and kept the engine. Scrapped the lt77 box even and sold the transfer for 30 quid lol

As said, rear axle no good for a 110, disco/rr/90 maximum authorised mass is much lower than 110 so standard axle is sufficient. Nothing at all to do with towing.
