Hi all,
I don’t know if this is the best section to post this question.
I’m in need of a working second hand drivers door latch (actuator) for a 1995 P38 2.5 diesel.
 
There are different types. LHD/RHD, some have single plug some have twin plug. This is a twin plug -

95 may be single? I would email someone on ebay breaking a P38 with whatever type you have. They are £230 new :eek:

2 plug are 94-99 and single plug are 99-02.

I bagged one off of a chap on Ebay..

Infact i bagged a
Key barrel
door handle
2 key blades
and the loom for the door!!!

all for £150..

Turns out my Becm has crapped itself :(

but great service regardless.

I don't have many refurbed door latches at the moment as I still have a number that haven't been returned to me after sending them out.
However... I was give 3 dead ones by another owner at a workshop meet yesterday - and one of the other owners who turned up had one to return aswell... so fingers crossed when I'm back from work again in a couple of weeks, I might have a bit of time at home to be able to actually get a few built and available for people. Though unfortunately the core charge will be going up, to hopefully encourage people that it's worth sending them back!

@Henry_b what is wrong with the vehicle/electrics that means the BECM is suspected to be faulty?

Hiya Marty..

Well i plugged in the new/used tested switch..

Re-connected the battery and the car locked itself and refused to unlock, disconnected the battery and reconnected eventually got it unlocked..

and the tailgate still doesn't work..

Plus the alarm is completely out of it ;)

Sounds like you need to test the replacement latch. The tailgate grounds through the CDL switch in the RHF (UK Drivers) door latch - so if that is open circuit the car will think it's locked, and as it never changed state, it won't think it's been unlocked properly, and the tailgate won't work.

Even though it's a used "tested" latch, 99% of people that sell used ones don't ACTUALLY test the microswitches...

Ok thank you. I have found someone that is breaking a P38 costing £40. Far better option than the costing for new
 
Glad you found right one at reasonable price. Let us know if it works for the next person that comes along. ;)

@Henry_b that ground Marty mentions is the one I thought blows the fuse you have problems with marked in your manual. Did you check it for continuity?
There is something there IMO your BECM is likely fine
