Hello All
98' Disco 2.5TDI ES Auto
I am sure that this is some where on here but I just can't find it.....
I need the part number of a rear sun roof frame (I am assuming different to front, but could be the same). I am talking about the bit that actually drops into the hole in the roof and holds the rubber seal.
Having completely unassembled the whole rear sun roof, cleaned up, refitted and resealed (properly so it still works) over the last weekend, I find that I still have to keep the bucket in the back of my Disco.
However, it has meant that I have discovered that the real reason my rear sunroof is leaking; (and would suggest to many others, having read loads of diffent threads on this subject, that this could be the real reason lots of sunroofs are leaking)...
....It is because the frame has warped which means that when closed the glass in one area does not even touch the seal - hence the wet room in the back of my disco!!
So no amount of jiggery pokery or sealant is gonna get this one fixed.
I have decided to try and buy a new part, hence the requirement for part number.
I was thinking about trying for a second hand sunroof, and just taking the bits I need, but decided I would get one that I know is straight and get the job done once and for all.
Many thanks for any help, also hope my thoughts help anyone else with a similar problem.
