Hello chaps,

I'm about to start changing the clutch on my 110 td5. I'm going down the box out rather than engine out route.

While it's out I'm hoping to change the transfer box to 1.2, and remember jamesmartin saying it's cheaper to change a few parts than to send it to ashcrofts.

Can anyone point me in the right direction with what parts I need, and part numbers? I have searched, but couldn't find this.

Also, at 130k miles, with no service history, is there anything else I should be doing while I've got the box out?

Thanks guys.

Cheers Sean, I did think about that. Are the holes needed in the tunnel because the levers are in different places to the 'fender, or somewhere else because it mounts differently?

only holes that need drilling/tapping are for the transmission brake bracket and the bell housing (if you can be bothered)

way easier than stripping a box

Thanks mate! Definitely not worth stripping it down then? How long would it take? I've got until Christmas and kind of enjoy that stuff. :)

i have no idea what tools/experience you have so i have no idea how long it would take you - but a monkey could do it before xmas ;)

why would you need to drill hand brake bracket bolts they are only needed for 200 and earlier 300 and tdg have direct hand brake cables,300 tdi disco box is perfect swap except it hasnt switch for hi/low which could be replaced with a switch in cab if so wanted ,if you give me your serial number of transfer box i can tell you what parts and cost would be
