Hi - wonder if anyone has any suggestions - my recent purchase of a 4.4 Vogue (2003) is keeping me busy with small repairs........... I had a problem with the parking sensors and identified two duds at the rear and some damaged wiring. Fixed these and parking sensors work fine if I just have the ignition on and select reverse - all perfect front and rear. However when I start the car they go bonkers - beeping all over the place, even if there is nothing there. Any suggestions? is it a new ECU? Thanks

Should say I've also added a towbar and electrics (genuine land rover kit with the ECU etc)
 
Check the sensor 'Lens' often times they have been painted over and when the paint bubbles it drives them crazy!!
 
Why do they work perfectly with just the ignition on (reverse gear selected) though? is only when the engine is running and I go into reverse that they go bonkers.
 
You can manually turn them on by pressing the parking sensor button on the dash
No need to select reverse
 
Think problem solved - took rear bumper off again today and on one sensor there was a little bit of wiring that must have got nicked when I put the bumper back on last time - wee bit of insulating tape and took some time to route the wires back thru the metal part of the bumper correctly and hey presto they seem to be working as they should.

That electrickery stuff can be temperamental
 
hi ,i need help too !
ive got a problem with my rear parking . bleep stays on when reversing .ive listened to the sensors and they all make the clicking noise ,bought a new one and swapped them over with each but still not working ??????/

help please anyone

Hi, I have diagnostics and I would like to help but we can't if we don't know where you live YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR LOCATION IN :rolleyes:

If you can wait till next week, I'm back at work and can hook up my All Comms if you want! (works on 2002 - 2005 models only as you don't mention what year!)

I work near Heathrow so not a million miles from Denham....
