Hi everyone

I am getting a set of Parabolic springs for my series 2 swb diesel i was wondering can i use the standard series shocks with these springs or will i need different ones ??

If so could you recommend the ones i need please

Many thanks chris

If yer dampers are in good nick they'll be fine. If they're a bit shagged anyways you'd be better orf gittin some new'uns to feel the benefit (& I don't nessercelery mean ride comfort!)

Cheers Grippa

If i get new one should i get standard or H/D ones ??
I thought maybe extra long ones would be better be i really cant afford them

So would you get standard or H/D mate ??

Cheers chris

i reckon standard shocks give a good ride,2" longer shocks which most fit make for harder ride and the springs will only drop so far anyway.

Dunno, most shox are around £30 per corner. I had Pro-comps & managed to burst all four in a year (wuz quite chuffed about that!) I'm running Monroe's at the mo', but they've only been on a couple of weeks & I haven't punished them yet. HDs will just give you a hard ride & sore arse.

Extra articulation is not much use if your brake lines are too short. Have you got check straps on your axles? I int. Whatever you fit, jack each corner up until the wheel leaves the ground & check you've got a fair bit of play left in your brake lines.

Hi

I dont have alxe straps but i see what you mean about the brake hoses, i only go green laney not serious off roading in her so the standard size shocks i am guessing would be good enough also a bit better on the pocket !!

Then in time if i want more articulation then i could add the longer shocks and hoses i guess
Cheers chris

Also one other question one of my rear chassis spring hangers is bent really bad a mate said he would weld a new one on for me does anyone know where i can buy them

Cheers chris

what ya got on it at the moment???

vaigly remember somthing about britsh springs

****part standards from padd****s are on it now, they are fooked as well so i got refunded on them aswell i aint usin it at the mo so i aint bothered but when i do get round to it i think its a ride over to gme springs in coventry, so i av bin told they used to supply solihull in the 70s with there springs so there mite be a chance of em lasting longer than 6 weeks
