right, beefed up my "press", and pushed the last bush all but home!, springs, shocks and wheels back on.
is levelling up usually such a pain?
it involved concrete blocks in the back, the sister in-law in the passenger, a jack, a friend, and its still not prefect!
i think someone has patched the chassis in places without measuring the hangar position, its about 15mm lower on one side, meaning the body is higher on that side.
i tried to compensate and its ok for now. i will look at it again some time.
as for the ride... its near as good as an air sprung RR!!
well, no rattles, and is nowhere near as harsh a ride. stripping the springs was well worth the extra hour work.
 
correct if you only use your Landy on road you won't use the checkstraps so there's no need for an extra 2" of travel,just fit standard components.
I've got mega travel from my suspension but still use standard props
All I do is keep a spare set of props so when a uj goes I just swap the prop over and repair the knackered uj at my leisure


Kinda hoping you have extended brake hoses as well!

My issue is not so much travel but grip and weight carrying.....anyone know how paras would compare against standard springs on my 6cyl 2a?

Oh yes, when i put the disco axles on i also fitted disco flexys which are longer than series ones but I also moved the mountings for the flexys lower down

The paras should give you more grip cos they're more flexible than standard springs so your wheels tend to stay on the ground more,as for carrying weight I don't know,but they are a lot softer so may not be suitable for carrying lots of weight
 
I've been worried about parabolics and their load carrying properties for my hi-cap, it seems that Glencoyne supply two versions for the 109, a standard set and a 'heavy duty' set intended for 1 Tons and hi-caps etc.....there's probably other suppliers but I've not looked into it too far, much more important things to do first like having a solid-ish chassis :D
 
hi all, i recently purchased some GB paras for my 2A, fitted them all fine looking good, really good, but upon tightening them up it seems to be leaning to the N/S (passenger side) better than how it was before when it was almost tipping to the drivers side!!! when i sit in her its just about level, is this normal, anything i done wrong? i took her for a run before fully tightening them, thanks
