It is a nice colour. I spent quite a lot of time trying to decide whether to change it or not, but I am glad I didn't. It looks a lot tidier now and the red will contrast nicely with all of the black stuff that I will be putting on it.

Anyone know where I can get some black wheel arches from that aren't extended? preferably matt black plastic and not the standard rubber ones.

Oh, and I just put the windscreen back in. Anyone who is trying to decide whether or not to do it on their own, just do it, was very easy and has saved me a lot of money.

Will post a picture when it is out of the garage.

So jobs left to do are put the dash back together, put a new wiper stalk in, and then clean and polish.

If you want the proper matt ones I've some bad news for you.
LR stopped making them and are -as far as I can tell- delisted.

All you can buy from LR now is either gloss black or primed ready for paint.

I just kept an eye on ebay and eventually a 2005 set cropped up in as new condition. Don't be tempted to go old though, the plastic ages, deforms and starts to look old.

You can buy aftermarket copies, but even the 'matt' ones were described by vendors as having a shine to them.

Ah. Right. Ok.

I wonder if gloss ones might look ok.

I like the look of the aftermarket ones, but don't need the extension and without spacers it would look stupid.

Got some expensive clay and polish. It has come up epically, although does show up all of the dents a lot.

Cracking job.
I need to replace my windscreen seal, any tips or links would appreciated.
Regards.

This guide is good (sorry for linking to another forum)

I actually cut out the seal from the outside with a stanley knife, was easy. But make sure you have a person nearby to help lift the glass off. I didn't and scratched the bonnet.

Getting the new seal onto the glass was a pain and took a bit of thinking to work out how it went on and I still ended up with the writing on the wrong side! Didn't use any lubricant or sealant at all.

After that put parachute cord around the edge of the seal that the metal sits in so that it ends up the same as on the pic with a loop both sides.

Then get inside, make sure the bottom of the window is about in the right place and have someone apply some pressure to the top as you pull out the cord. I had to do it twice as the bottom of the window wasn't far enough in the first time.

After the cord is out and the seal is in front of all of the metal on the inside, go around the corners on the outside and push into place. It took me about 20 mins to get the seal on the glass, and 5 mins to fit. Quite rewarding actually
