hey,
my rear x member has a few what I would call "rusty stains", one where my electrics plug for trailer once was. I would like to make the whole thing nice and clean and black again, and was wandering what the best method of this wood be?
I dont want it took look like i'm covering up rust, I want a nice finish, no flakin etc. any tips, best paints, to use, maybe even a step by step method??

cheers me dears,

ed

hamerite what i used clean it all off with a wire brush on a grinder is the best and then slap it on nice and thick works like a treat mine been on for a year had the pressure washer on it the lot and looks as it first did

i used a tin o wrought iron black gate paint. our local pound shop sells it fer a quid a tin ;)

or grind off as above then spray on a few coats of hammerite primer followed by 3 or 4 coats of hammerite satin black for the factory look.

But if you dont mask well, you get the tata factory look
