Will be taking these off to renew headlamp bowls. Read somewhere about tarting them up with a plastic spray? Any recommendations?

I roughed mine up with some wet n dry and sprayed them with normal cellulose primer and topcoat, they came up lovely. Peeps say it doesn't always last but they are so easy to take off and do again its not worth worrying about.

Yeeeeeeharrrr!

I've herd good stuff about plastikote although I've never used it myself, Id just crack the spray gun out and annoy the neighbours again :D

I just used black boot polish on mine come up a treat

Tried that on mine but just went grey. Had also tried 'back to black' which seems to mean 'back a few shades of grey for a bit'

Think I just painted with some matt black halfrauds in the end.

plastikote... superb paint, does an excellent job

satin looks great on arches n lamp surrounds, gloss on metalwork, covers minor imperfections really well, touch dry in minutes and has an excellent finish

As part of my CSW refurb project I finished the wings the other day. I repainted the lamp surrounds with Halfords plastic bumper paint. It went on well, but only after Id found it did not like to go on cold. Much better at 18deg+.

I also used it on the eyebrows.
