Thanks chrisstdt I will give the mohair a go.
As for everyone else please read the original post before replying, I didint say I was getting orange peel effects I said I was getting lighter and darker strips from the roller, other than that I'm getting a pretty good finish. I'm only using hammerite because its very similar colour to the landy's original paint job and its available off the shelf. I dont have the space required to do spray painting or the equipment if I did I would have ordered the paint off the internet and done it that way. So really fascinating as it is to hear your stories of how you spray painted yer landy using yer grannies ill fitting false teeth and a tin molasses thinned with yer uncle bobs favourite rum it has no bearing on the question or cry for help that I originally posted so thanks for yer input but no thanks.
My apologies. I didnt realize you didnt give a toss. Throw dog crap at it for all I care................. :D:D:D:p;)

It looks gay in silver anyway........................

Bus companies often use Tekaloid, its a high glass brush on coach paint.
It takes 24 hours to dry properly and with a good brush and roller you would never know it wasn't sprayed.
I just got my local paint place to mix me a brush on Nato green and let the kids aged 7 and 8ish paint it with a 2" brush and a good gloss roller, considering our collective painting skills it wasn't a bad job oh and it was cheap. I too have little money and no space so we painted it in the street.
As you have already mixed it well I wonder if the hammerite wasn't adhering to the base coat causing the shading?
From memory won't hammerite go soft if in contact with fuel or oil? Just be mindful when filling up

Rollers arrived this morning how bloody good is that, so guess what I'm doing this weekend.

I too will be painting this weekend. Weather dependant!! I'm fed up of painting now, I've had to sand this 2K paint back so many times. The quality of the 2k is noticeable though.

Nato green
dont fancy doing it Nato Green it was never a military vehicle so for some reason I'm not sure why just does not seem fitting to paint it a military colour and think it would look silly with the silver/grey front grill/light surrounds

brilliant results using these rollers no bubbles no tram lines nice smooth even colour, just one more coat after a light sanding and I think the doors will be done thanks to philsefo for the link and the advise.
