Hi

The colour matched paint on my bumper started to peel and an inadvertent pressure washer error worsened the peeling.

So I went the whole hog and stripped the rest with the pressure washer.

There is one stubborn patch left.

Does anyone know a way of removing the paint without damaging the bumper plastic as it is pristine.

The part that won't come off maybe a repair site and impossible to remove without damage. Get the bumper resprayed.
 
wammers is right. if its not coming off its because its stuck for some reason. try picking at it to see. clearly the bumper wasnt plastic primed, so at somepoint an idiot has had a go at it!
 
Probbably painted to hide some filler and thats what stuck on.
Im in the process of colour codeing mine but doing it properly with high built plastic primer (well as properly as you can with rattle cans)
front is done and fitted as in my pics doing back on a replacement that I bought cos mines damaged
will up some pics when done

AH HAH......

What you need to do there is soda blast it... kills all paint on contact but doesn't harm the substrate in any way shape or form.

A lot of people use it to have the keel of their boat "scraped" when it comes out the water for drying... and unlike media blasting, like with sand/ shot etc, no heat is generated so there's no warping.

What soda American cream or washing?

Yeah but do you not think there maybe a reason the paint is stuck solid in just one area, when the rest just peeled off. If he is going to respray it why not just flat it down and re coat it?

without looking at it to assess, i could not say for sure... all i'm saying is that powder blasting is the only non abrasive method of removing paint without harming the substrate i know of, and i've stripped loads with my kit.
 
Either way.... this is an example of what i do when i'm not driving big red buses all over London... REALLY, REALLY SORRY ABOUT THE MUSIC THOUGH... It's not my video, but that aside, it's a decent enough example of what soda blasting can do, and check out the mirror and car door handle... it kills the paint but leaves the substrate alone, unlike sand blasting which destroys and warps everything it touches.

is there a good way to get rid of paint from galv without harming the galv? no blasting, just chemicals.

Hey wammers talking of walnut shells

Did you know Porsche clean there inlet manifolds cylinder by cylinder still on with the valve closed naturally its part if the service schedul on certain models :p:p:D;)
