This is good advice from Ratae on asking from a dealership. I had the same problem and was reluctant to call them, as they never help and always charge

Land Rover for a period of time didn't bother stamping the code on the VIN plate despite their being a perfectly good place for it.
Mazda don't bother & if I work on one I always need to ring the franchised dealer's parts dept,
