Hi all,

Currently overhauling my 110 TD5 ('99) and want to refresh the colour on my plastic front grill and front light panels. Both originally black, but now faded and almost grey.

Any recommendations? Do I use a spray paint (if so, which one) or something like 'back to black' as a softer option?

Appreciate your time

I used a trick that I once saw used on a drain pipe to get it back to black from grey. But you have to be careful as it can soon make a mess if it all.

Basically you need to heat it and I use a flame like propane torch or I guess that butane and propane mix stuff would work well.

Just give it a quick like of the flame so you warm it but not melt it. They flame polish edges of Perspex like this to.

Best done with a heat gun ...

You know the paint stripper type - but don't hold it too close for too long ... :D

Did mine with a tin of primer and then black plasticote ,not a bad finish cost about six quid in total :)
