Hi all. I have a problem with my divers door on my 5 door discovery.

In order to open the driver door I have to pull up the latch that comes up when i unlock the door, only about 2mm. I have read posts that say you can adjust the bars inside the door and this I have done but still nothing. When I try to open the door there is no force on the handle until I hold that latch. It's as if there's something not holding the bar when I pull the handle.

Any help would be appreciated hugely! If pics are needed I can post also.

Just put a new assembly in there you will forever be fcukin about with them

Good advice but if you do have a go at fitting a new spring, make sure you attach a piece of thin string to it and tie the other end to something fixed, it'll save hours searching for the bloody thing

I have the same issue. The time spent leaning in and lifting the button 2mm far outweighs the time you can spend fu@kin about with the springs... LOL.

oh no! I had a look through that guide and didn't know that it was for the problem i was having is this practically the same for the front doors as the rear? Do i need to ebay the spring?

I got my latch springs from Disco-compatible-parts.com & you get fitting instructions too.

I've brought the whole part from eBay I'm going to have a go at fitting it tomorrow or Tuesday ill let you know how I get on.

Ok I'm currently outside in this lovely march spring weather..... Just got the catch out, I had to unscrew and lift the frame around the window to get it out. The round springs arnt broke... Any ideas?

Quick update: put the new one in - it works! Just got the bar that goes up and down to show locked/unlocked and a linking bar which actually locks the outside lock, hmmm awkward.
