Ask yourself this:- How great is the distance from the guttering to the underside of the rack?
On most cars the gutter is only slightly below the top of the roof but on a Series / 90/110 / Defender the distance is far greater hence why the racks used for these vehicles have taller side-bars.

Thanks - I've asked for dimensions from seller and will post definitively here for reference unless anyone knows in the meantime. I'm guessing it would be well documented if it was an option, given price, but fingers crossed, eh?

When I used to run a hard-top (back in the 1980's, had soft-tops since then) I had a pair of roof-bars that clamped to the gutter but they had to be very tall (because of the height of the roof above the gutter) and when some weight was put on they used to flex something horrible when cornering!

Ah well, as suspected and noted here for future bargain hunters, sadly the clearance is only 10cm so the Paddy Hopkirk 406u rack won't fit.
