is paddocks britpart temp gauges any good or is there some where else better that any one knows. Thanks for help

Try Bearmach. Somethings are OK from Brit Part. I went through three sender unites from Paddocks before buying one from Bearmach which has now been in there for a few years.

I would fit an aftermarket temperature gauge. A gauge that reads in degrees Centigrade (of Fahrenheit if you prefer) and not "it sits in the middle"

As above, a Durite unit is more accurate. Sold on line by vehicle wiring products and many others.

I need a few gauges as my 90 was originally a 2.5td and then went Def 200tdi by P.O. and from this weekend its going to be fitted with a Disco 200tdi engine so atm all the gauges are either not working properly or not working at all, so the question is as regards the small gauges is the wiring the same on aftermarket gauges as on std gauges :)

Yes, same wiring. For the fuel and temp you will need to use the durite senders, which are matched to the gauges. Might be a bit of hassle to change the fuel sender, but easy for the temp.

I am using Durite gauges in my 300TDi 90 (fuel, temp, volts, oil-pressure & clock) and they are very good.
Obviously I used the matching temp sensor (very accurate and gives real temperature readings, not just a white line with a band of red at the end) but the fuel gauge works perfectly fine with the OE sender so there was no need to change.

Nice one i bought a temp gauge off ebay on Thursday and arrived yesterday so i will fit it tomorrow when i fit the engine in :D
