Hi guys looking to buy some parts for my land rover . I tried 3 suppliers 2 were at the £80 mark for timing belt kit and £70 for water pump, paddocks want £35 for timing belt kit and £30 for the pump. Do they use cheap **** or is it just they are fantastic at pricing products feedback would be appreciated.

Most times I've ordered from them its been ****part but they do sometimes specify a manufacturer with items such as UJs and timing belt kits. Failing that just give them a phone. I was sure paddocks stocked dayco timing belt kits

all suppliers use the same 3 wholesalers in general britpart, bearmach and allmakes, and use parts from all 3 often to make orders up ,ask what makes parts are ie pattern or branded like dayco which is good or oe which is good as obviously is genuine

Nothing to do with timing belts etc, I just bought a Defender wheel arch spat that was Allmakes 4x4, its total ****, real brittle plastic and above all is not quite the right shape so had to be "assisted" into place with millions of screws.
Hope their timing belts and water pumps are better than the arches, they really do need to talk to these Chinese kids that make the stuff to try harder for a buck a day.

Just had me PAS pipes turn up from paddocks - all britpart. Got no bloody choice but to fit 'em. I'm hoping the old addage if it don't move fit it is true for these pipes!!

i always use paddocks had no probs with belt kits or water pumps

ive used paddocks for years without any problems, even the britpart stuff.

you guys must be the luckiest land rover owners alive I try not to fit brit**** as its known in Poland I try to keep to branded or oe stuff as much as possible because the quality is sometimes worse than the knackered dead bit your taking off but some parts last 5 minutes others for years

I find if I order off the net with paddocks I get brith art but if I ring up and ask for it not to be britpart then it isn't

I would only use non-moving/critical parts made by britpart

As far as I know, britpart don't make any parts, they are a reseller and wholesaler. Which is why the more expensive stuff is ok, whereas the cheapos are Chinese ****e.

If you had asked for genuine parts, you would have got them. But they would have been more expensive too.

I'm know. Its a balancing act. All 3 PAS pipes was under 60quid whereas 1 genuine one were over 75 plus the vat.

I'm trusting in the it don't move addage!! Plus I'll get the old originals serviced at the local pirtek in time.

Use Land Rover Parts and Spares Direct

You can select the manufactur for each part you buy, when you place your order in the "other info" box put "NO BRITPART" - as they do occasionally subsitute if no stock, but, will never send britpart if you state that.

Any problems with them ring them up and ask for Paul - not sure if he is the boss or just incredibly knoweldgeable and helpful, but, he's sorted things out a couple of times for me.

I used to use Paddocks, especaily as they were just up the road, but, too many blue boxes for my liking,

I use LR direct too, so i can specify OEM stuff, if its got a G on the end of the code, it doesnt matter a bit what box it comes in.

I did look at LR Direct but Bearmach stuff was +1 day, and I'd already spoken to Bearmach and they were awaiting a delivery themselves into HQ which is just 15 minutes away.

The only option from BM direct was genuine and the costs were huge and an extra few days wait.

So to get me rolling again it had to be Britpart! :(

I send stuff back thats britpart,

Send them an email first though, they may have other brands in stock !

Got a wiper park switch from them that was britpart, told them flatly no thanks, sent me bearmach instead, much happier

Only britpart items on my 90 in 4 bolts that hold the steering guard to the chassis,
