Hi,
While I’m stuck in hospital, last night my CSW willow green Defender 110 has been stolen from outside my house. I almost knew deep down that this day would come. Maidenhead area
Has a Quartix tracking system fitted by previous owners but I don’t have a live subscription.
Any info helpful, thanks guys.

Saw this on FB. I’ve shared it to the series 3, 90/110 owners forum too. Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully it will be found safely and those responsible are caught. If you or others can do so, it’s worth checking side roads, industrial estates, housing estates and car parks within a few miles to see if it has been left for a few days in case it has a tracker fitted.

There have been several thefts in the Berkshire area in the last few weeks...

l looked on the tracking company's website, it seems that once the tracking system is installed, the customer has an app that enables them to track the vehicle(s) themselves.

lt's designed for fleet operators to see where their vehicles are. The tracking company doesn't have a monitoring service.

Any news on this Defender, did you manage to get the tracking device back online?
The tracking device had a sim in it, so because of GDPR regulations they deleted the details on their systems and couldn’t help. The police said the thieves got around the immobiliser by removing the headlight and bypassing it in some way. They could then drive off with it. No more news to date and insurance company settled.can’t see myself ever getting another given how easy they are to steal.

Well, they can be made more difficult to steal by upgrading the alarm, having a tracker that works, and fitting some visible security such as a pedal lock.

Most that are stolen seem to be driven away without much effort. They won't bypass my immobiliser/alarm that easily, and it's only the standard system with a couple of fairly cheap upgrades.

Out of interest, apart from the tracker, what other security did you have fitted?

Headlamps are removed to get at the horns and back up alarms and disable them. I suspect that most stolen defenders are then towed away from the immediate area and loaded onto trucks. My first line of defence is to park up with the front bumper touching a brick wall, makes it difficult for the thieves to get at the alarms. Further layers of security are in place to deter / slow down the thieving bastards.
