SRS = Supplementary Restraint System(airbags.pretensioners), illumination circuits is about some lights(exterior and dash).... i meant that if with the 251 the wipers are working then the 250 fusebox has a fault not that it's not good for the job, a 100% working 250 is as good as any other pre-facelift box i mentined in post #4

Hi again,

I’ve got another 250 fusebox again from Paul at discovery 2 parts on eBay and I’ve got the exact same issue with the wipers, Paul tested this new fusebox and it’s 100% working so I guess we can rule the fusebox out, any suggestions? The wipers work perfectly with 251 fusebox.

Sorry, so I put the 251 in the wipers work but my low beam don’t work, stereo only turns on when I put the lights on and other little bits don’t work I’m not sure from the top of my head but wipers work fine same with my poorly repaired 410 fusebox but I put the 250 in and literally everything works but the wipers, I’m not 100% but I’ve had a look and it seems like the previous owners had poorly converted to facelift headlights but I’m not sure, when I got the car the fusebox wasn’t mounted properly and the BCU wasn’t either, very strange indeed

Seems that something is bodged up in the circuits there cos it's a total non-sense for the wipers to work well with the wrong fusebox(for which is normal to not work well with the lights and others) but everything to work well except the wipers with the correct fusebox :confused:o_O... unfortunately in such cases i can't help much from distance cos the diagram is not matching anymore, you'll have to make sure that the wires are connected as in the diagram between the fusebox and wipers i have no other ideea

Yeah I will have a look at the wiring, when the fusebox melted it also melted the plugs that go into it so I got some plugs from I believe is a facelift so do you think the wires in the plug I got from another car is in a different slot then it’s meant to in my car?

When I soldier and rewired the plugs I did one plug at a time and colour to colour so I have not miss wired it…. He says

On a facelift the wires can be in different slots also different colours, you have to check continuity between the fusebox connectors and wiper circuit connectors(switch and motor) according to the diagram for example C0588-2 to C0035 -7 , C0588-8 to C0030-4...and so on for all the wires involved

The only thing is I won’t know where they are meant to go if in the wrong place at all unless I have another pre facelift plugs to match them up or does the diagram say what position each individual wire goes?

The diagram shows everything you need as long as you know how to read it and corroborate it with the connector views , if you dont know what i mean i cant help you anyway

I know what you mean, I can read most of it but I’m a 50/5 with understanding what point of view I need to check the plugs at, for example correct me if I’m wrong as it’s a learning curve for me….CO588-2, 2 stands for the second wire on the plug?

C0588-2 is like it appears on the diagram and means pin 2 as it's identifiable based on the connector view from the electrical library where it's shown the wire colour too with the colour codes(read the introduction) so if you watch the diagram you can see that it's LGP(light green/purple trace) wire which goes to the switch's connector C0035 pin 7, example of connector view for c0582 cos that's what i have saved

Okay I’ve got you, how have you got the connectors themselfs? All I’ve got is the wiring diagram as a whole, what would be your first diagnoses to check?

Hello, sorry for the long reply I’ve finally got some time to work on the landy, I’ve looked at the diagrams thank you for sending the link and looking at the actually car plugs and all of them aren’t what the plug diagram says it should be so say on plug 581 instead of mine being where they should on the diagram it goes 3 2 1 in the colour so opposite, is that cause it’s the 2003 model plug diagram you shared or is there no difference as I’ve sorted out plug 588 but now my hill decent light has come on

Ahhh okay, I’ve compared them both and all my plugs to the fusebox including the ones that haven’t been rewired are opposite from the diagram the only thing I can think of is that the diagram is backwards

or you watch the connector views bacwards.. the view is from connector's "front".. where the pins are
