D dibbles Active Member Apr 5, 2009 #1 there seems to be a whining / whirring noise on acceleration on my 1998 p38 4ltr.it seems to be coming from the carb/air filter. anybody else had this problem or knows what it could be, and what should i look for? thanks

G gavbriggs Well-Known Member Apr 5, 2009 #3 usually is the alternator that wines, also check air intake hose is all sealed and squeeze it see if there are any cracks or tears
