Are there the bits around to modify a P38 to an offroader for a bit of fun?
I've just sold my Disco and have been looking for a 110, a pal who is a car dealer has taken a P38 in p/x, he's offered it to me at a reasonable price but I know little about them.
Can I get steering guard, snorkle, winch bumper etc?
Is being an auto a disadvantage?
(it's a V8 thats runs LPG from a tank in the spare wheel space)

you cant go into any water that comes anywhere near the sill cos there is a ecu on the floor under drivers seat. but otherwise they are pretty good!

Not strictly true, and the ecu for classics is in the same place.Ive been out with a p38 splashing in the puddles

it should have a data plate on it, a little raised plate welded on showing the details of the tank and capacity and manufacture date etc!

This one did alright

This was the result, i wont tell you how much it all cost to put it right!! lucky i was insured and i didn't have to pay for it all, Oh and use a plug for the transferor box (wading plug) or you will need a new gearbox

Nice pictures!!

Mine has ploughed on through water deeper than this, mainly in the High Easter ford pictured earlier, without any problems.

I just put her into high and go through gently and have made it to the other side so far! I have had the water come up over the headlights before too!

I have done it before attached to a 90 i was following just in case it conked out, so i didnt have to sit in the water and watch it soak through the sills!
