Hi all,

I've got a 1999 4.6 Thor p38 on gas. Had an interesting couple of seconds when I pulled out of a junction the evening. I wasn't exactly light footed, but when I lifted off we carried on accelerating. Tried to brake, but couldn't overcome the engine, so dropped it into neutral. I lifted both feet off at this point and the revs dropped.

After composing myself the car drove fine. I noticed my drivers floor mat was quite far forward, so I pulled it back.

I'm convincing myself it was the pedal getting caught under the mat, but I thought I'd canvass opinion.

Tested when stopped and the pedal seems fine. I do suffer from very big feet (15), so I'm used to floor mats slipping.

Any thoughts appreciated.

It could well be the floor mat, I had exactly the same thing happen to me in the TVR a few years ago.

I did lube up the throttle cable as well, just to be sure.
