I've drilled a small (3mm) hole in the lowest spot in the well which lets any water out now, just wondered if others have suffered with this? can't see where it gets in, the carpets are always dry, only the well that has water in it.
I am working up a small snaggining list on my new purchase - I was going to get them all together but...
I too have water in my spare wheel well. To me it looks like it is penetrating from the lower tailgate. (lifted up the plastic thingy that covers the gap) Just noticed it today really, need to monitor mine, but it appears to be worse on the left hand side - its even seeping along under the CD unit and then dripping down the side and into the well.
Might need a new rubber seal allround or some mastic?! In the meantime I was also thinking of drilling a small hole to deal with it in the short term
I had same problem tracked it down to water getting into the lower tailgate release pushbutton then leaking through and tracking down the inside of the tailgate and over the seal into the spare wheel well, when I removed the tailgate carpet it was wet on the hardboard backing but had not soaked through to the carpet. Prior to tracking this down I was also getting spurious operation of the central locking when on the move this has now stopped since replacing the tailgate release pushbutton. The old pushbutton spring and mechanism was rusty although still functional.
Before drilling holes and renewing seals check that the rear wash/wipe n/rvalve is not blocked this is located above n/s rear light cluster.access by removable panel this is how i solved my fishtank.
