I'm getting a little bit of a complex here :baby:

I introduced myself in the newbie section and nobody posted and now the same here

I'm still in my first week of ownership and I'm hoping to ask for everyones help a lot more in the near future.

Thanks, Graham

Hello Graham. Welcome aboard.

I'm afraid I don't know about the SatNav firmware. Having a lowly HSE I have a cubby hole instead of a SatNav.

If you can't get an answer on here, RangeRovers.net is a US site with a lot of knowledge on it. You could try there...

Alright, calm down dear. I would say you have a mk3 nav computer going by the age of your motor. Whatever firmware you have its going to be dire in operation. Your best bet is investigating upgrading the drive to the later mk4 DVD system. Best research this though as I'm not sure if it will be compatible with your screen. This is a know upgrade on the BMW x5 that come with mk3 drives so it stands to reason you should be able to fit a mk4, but as I said, check first as they are not cheap.oh and welcome.

true, true. i only found that on a quick search, didnt look into the copy sites :)

just thought it might have been a good idea.

I have mostly bought my sat nav cds from SAT NAV CD VDO Dayton 2011 2012 Great Britain England | eBay

He is in Germany but delivery was quick and he always answers questions etc.

I have a 2000 p38 and tried to go for the Mk4 version but the Audio system didn't like it ie no voice commands and the poor screen resolution couldn't cope with the DVD Graphics, everything was very dark. Originally I had the MkII Corin unit so upgraded to a genuine Mk3 which works great.

You can see what software version you have by (if I remember right) holding the menu button in for ten seconds on boot up. Takes you to another menu system so you can see what sats you have etc. The procedure is in the Carin Book that should be in with your service book. On the MKII on the opening menu screen there was a 'set' you could select this is where the firmwear version is. A word of warning never disconnect the battery while the orange lights are lit on the satnav computer.
