hi all,

I have a 1999 4.0 se which does not have sat nav, how hard would it be to fit it in?
Is it a simple job or are none of the wires there.

Also the unit that came in the p38 is it purely a sat nav or does it have tv as well?

cheers

The original P38 sat nav is very old technology, and this shows when using it and trying to programme destinations. I have it in mine, and currently I am looking at replacing the screen with a TomTom. My opinion is its just not worth effort. You will need a screen, computer, loom, gps aerial etc so you are looking at £400 -£500 for all the bits. But saying all that, they do work and they look quite nice.

I have found the complete set for £250 from a guy i know who is breaking 1,
and also i have been told you can get new 2008 software for the sat nav.

Is it hard to install?
And is it purely a sat nav or can it be used as a tv aswell?

it's only a sat nav m8, and it's pretty poor in comparison with the tom tom i use in me van.
my house was built in the 40's and the sat nav can't find the bloody thing.
the software is updated by buying cd's that go in the boot

dunno m8, i aint payin a fortune for a cd when i can update my tom tom for free. i aint to impressed with the mapping it shows either:rolleyes:

i have mine, purchased a 2007 map and postcode CD from Ebay for around £9

find everythying now, okay its not the best interface but it works well.
