Les?
Bare in mind if a strange newb turns up asking
‘I’ve lost my keys…can you tell me how to get into ‘my’ RR without them’
we won’t, regardless if it can be done or not. We need to mindful of things such as LR theft or what is advertised on the forum

I think it might be possible to reprogram an old key. You can certainly capture the code from a working fob, either as transmitting or from the board.

Still availabe from the dealerships. I called on Saturday just to check.... currently £259.00 + VAT, but they will sell you one.

Better off talking to Classic Rides North Wales or MrSporty first at that price. They were £160 ten years ago.

Can those places make you a new key though... or just copy the ones you've got?

Cloning is easy. I think they can make it another number too though. Marty showed me where the key number is on the code when he captured mine on his laptop. Should be easy enough to change that if you can reprogram an old key.

I spoke to Les at CRNW a while ago. He has various options, and either sends a key reader or you can send an original (assuming you have a spare). Ideally it's better to have the lockset barcode from LR, but apparently he can create a different numbered key from whatever one you have. I'm 30% sure mine are number-1, but not got around to getting new keys yet. The only limitation is he does not have flip keys available.

Rather than guessing on here, read through the stuff on his website & speak to him.

@crnw Les, might be useful if you explain the options here.

The chip in the FOB is a one time programable device, once programmed, the program cannot be changed.

Copy an existing one and change the key number if required.
Good to know you can change the number. Last time I asked a dealership, I'm sure they said they'd only supply Key 4 nowadays. That's no good to me, because I already have Key 3 and 4, and I'd like my memory seats to work!

Yes, I heard that about the chip in the engine ECU as well. And then someone claimed you could reset it with the right gear. Beyond my pay-grade but I am open to the idea some smarty-pants has worked something out.

I have the full data sheets on the chip, I can assure you that once programmed, it cannot be re-programmed. Having said that, not all the memory is used so there may be some possibilities there.
