Just replicate the door striker, screwdriver in where the striker would engage, operate the handle and move the screwdriver towards the interior of the car. The latch should disengage.
Hi Alan got the offside rear door done and now closes and opens ok, near side rear door latch will not budge at all, had a word with my garage and it seems door latch mechanism is at fault, new one ordered either after market peice if poss or genuine replacement then get rid of it, after a lengthy discussion with Land Rover head office re another fault...the vacuum pump failed on the M5 recently and I've paid to have a new brake servo, brake servo hoses etc, as i was informed it was the servo but turned out to be the vacuum pump, they agreed to get car into my local LR dealer and fit another at their cost...for anyone reading this the vacuum pump on RR Sport is faulty, although they wont admit it after I found out mine had had a recall that was not listed publicly but it was on their systems...crafty!!! So beware people if your brake pedal goes hard when braking BEWARE the Vacuum pump is failing..not to mention the dealer fitted a new one it Failed in pieces and they had to fit another!!! So big fault hope this helps anyone if they have brakeing problems, but many thanks Alan for your advice very much welcomed and appreciated.
Best regards.
