Hi all,

I'm new to the site, i have a 1998 Range Rover P38, I bought it two years ago and am slowly giving it the TLC it needs. One problem it has is the air conditing isn't working due to a leak, after some investigiating and changing the dryer, the pipe that runs in front of the condencer has been fitted back into the condencer cross threaded when the previous owner changed the cooling radiator. Before replacing the condencer and AC pipes, i thought i'd tap and die both, does anyone know the hole size so i can purchase a tap and die to fit.

Thank you for your time.

Hmmm, that's a good question. I can't help with that one but I could suggest trying some bolts or nuts to give you an idea of what your looking at.
M8 m10 and so on.
1.0p, 1.25. 1.50 or 1.75.
Hopefully some bod can chirp a solution for you ;)

Thank you, I know it’s around 17mm but I’m unsure how accurate and if it’s’ imperial or metric.

I think you will find they are UNF.

On the aircon? It won't be Land Rover so it has a chance of being metric. The diesel one is from Hella. If you ring Hella (the Oxford office was very helpful with me when I was checking the provenance of the source a certain online retailer) then they can probably tell you from the plans.

3/4 & 5/8 UNF based on this page
