HI, JUST WONDERED IF ANYONE CAN HELP!! MY P38 AUTO HAS A PROBLEM ..FOR SOME REASON AFTER FITTING A REPLACEMENT IAC VALVE(STEPPER MOTOR ) OR IDLE AIR CONTROL
SHE WOULDNT START VERY EASY...OR CHANGE UP GEARS UNTIL 5000 REVS...TORTURE!!!
I HAVE DISCONNECTED THE TP (THROTTLE POSITION )SENSOR(LOCATED NEXT TO IAC VALVE) AND NOW SHE CHANGES UP AT 2500 REVS... BUT I HAVE TO BE VERY VERY GENTLE ON THE THROTTLE OR SHE KICKS DOWN AND UP AND DOWN......IF I RECONNECT THE TP SENSOR ITS BACK TO BAD STARTING AND THE 5000 REVS
SHE WAS RUNNING FINE BEFORE!! TRIED SWAPPING THE OLD IAC VALVE BACK BUT STILL SAME PROBLEM..
ANYONE GOT ANY IDEA WHATS WRONG:eek:

needs putting on testbook and calibrating i think!!

ask a mod to move your post to the rangie section and you might get a better response!!!

Make sure you installed the TPS sensor correctly. The TPS can be installed two different ways. I can not remember which one is correct. Look on the TPS sensor for marks in the plastic which would indicate the correct position.
