Hi ,I Have a W reg 4.0 auto p38 ,87000 trouble free miles ,and its just strarted getting a pronounced rumble at the front ,worse on left corners, with a pulse or rhythm to it that suggests a worn wheel bearing ,though thats only my guess. have been told that if it is then its anew hub assembly,as the wheel bearings cant be replaced like on the Classic ,can anyone tell me how to confirm the diagnosis .If so is it a big job, anything else I should check.
Many thanks

Jack it up ,so you can rotate wheels by hand. I had bad bearing and it was very hard to say which wheel it is, turning by hand you should feel some unsmooth if bearing is bad enough.

Bearing is possible to replace, but it need big hydraulic press and maybe good equipments to get hub hot.

AVRO Many thanks ,will try this, its definately not as easy to work out which side the problem is,compared to a normal car,
thanks again
