Hi, good news , it was a connection in the big plug under the expansion tank I gave it a wiggle and pushed it in abit and the glow plug light comes on again, thanks for the help
Now I just need to get the key to resync and all back to normal.

Pat on the back for Tomcat.

Key in the lock, press unlock and turn to unlock; press lock, turn to lock. If it doesn't work after a few repeats you might need to clear the RF memory with diag or try another key first if you have one.

Hi Grrrrrr , sorry for the late reply , i didnt see your message, i have tried all the usual pressing buttons and turning key tricks but still no good, my year is supposed to automaticaly sync with the key in ignition but it dosent, but i do have all the alarms, imobalisers and EKA code all deactivated using my nanocom so maybe that has stopped the auto sync working? im not sure.

Yes auto sync will not work with EKA and immobiliser turned off. It's key in door lock press lock button and turn to lock, press unlock button and turn to unlock. This will only work if the aerial is connected to the RF receiver.

yes my aerial is usually unplugged as it gets interferance and drains the battery but i did connect it while i tried the key in lock with buttons press as you discribe but no good, i have even drove to different locations to try and get away from any other signals which may interupt it but still no good, i am abit reluctant to re activate the EKA code as i do not have it. will the auto sync work if i just re activate the immobiliser and not the EKA?

Did the central locking work off the key before all this started? If the microswitches in the door don't work then you're stuffed.

You could ask a dealer for the EKA. Should work unless BECM has been swapped or someone has been clever.

yes, central locking worked fine off the buttons before i disconected the battery for the engine swap, but since then it only unlocks using the key in the door, i suspect the switches in the door is ok as when i turn the key in the lock it is happy and all the doors and boot lock and unlock fine, just wont work when using the buttons.

Don't even think about re-activating EKA in your situation or you could be in a world of pain. If the FOB will not sync using the door lock procedure, use your Nanocom to see if a valid code is being received from the FOB. Clear the memory first.

The last one I had like this turned out to be a failed RF receiver.

yeah, my mate has a p38 so i was thinking of swapping the receiver out , just to rule it out

i will try swapping the receiver first, if still no good i will reactivate the imobiliser and see if that works

thanks guys, will update once i have done this

oh and yeas using nanocom and go in to the RF menu it says a valid code has been received but i supose this could be because everything is deactivated so it defaults to " valid code received" ?

Use Nanocom to clear the code, then operate the FOB and see what you get. I doubt reactivating the immobiliser will make any difference but I see no harm in trying.

Hi , finally had some time to have a look at the key sync issue, the key in door sync would not work , so I re enabled just the immobiliser, but not the EKA function, using the nanocom and the key automatically synced in the ignition!! So all working again and I have also ordered one of marty's RF filters so I can have the antenna plugged in without my battery draining

Oh and also I can deactivate the immobiliser again after the sync and they key fob still works so will just have to remember next time I disconnect the battery to turn the immobiliser on just to sync the key.

Looks like the immobiliser being deactivated also deactivated the sync coil in the ignition barrel
Yes, turning off the immobiliser turns off auto sync coil. No need to turn it back on, just key in door lock, press lock button and turn to lock, press unlock button an turn to unlock. Might have to reverse that, I can never remember which way is first:(

That procedure didn't work, tried all versions of it , the only way it synced was through the ignition after turning immobiliser on.

Think that's correct as car has to be unlocked first.
