Thanks for the reply but I do not have this at all

The H-Gate lights flashes during changes & High or Low briefly displayed in message centre when engaged

I had it when I tried several month ago when I took possession of the car, but since they changed my Air Suspension this "The H-Gate lights flashes in message centre" No longer appears. I remember it well it was blinking in RED before while changing from H to L.

However, and excuse my somehow limited english, I am not sure to understand what you mean by : Pressing Manual/Sport button and thats briefly displayed as well depending which range you're in.

Check the plug under the car to the Hi/Low motor, may be bad connection or the switches inside motor or the transfer ecu under left front seat.

There's a button on the H-gate when in High it engages sport mode & in Low range Manual mode, the button illuminates and there's a message on the dash when pressing it.

Pic is right, remember there's two prop's and 4 U/J's to grease, use good lithium based grease as per hand book. You will need a grease gun for the nipples.

... And sorry to ask but what do you mean by U/J ?

UJ == Univeral Joint

Like this, but this is for a Land Rover:

That's enough tech for me - off for a lie down :D

Thanks everyone! I will check under the car and for the Manual Mode, but not before next week end, tomorrow have to leave very early.

As for the U/J (wow I look so cool by just knowing this now ;-)) I will have to do it next week as well, but does not seems to difficult !

Might also be worth changing the transfer box oil - never gets done and if the car has covered some miles it could do with it!

My RRC has done 133,000 miles and changed the transfer box oil the other day, looks like it had been there from new! :( Was already very smooth, but even better now :)

Thanks, but it has been done with the gearbox a few weeks ago.

Well, I had a poke around the transfer box and cleaned a couple of wiring connections. I was just about to crawl from under and I noticed a set of cables at the very top of the little motor unconnected. Fingers told me there was somewhere above it for them to clip into and bingo, all works. Cheers boys. The down site, I noticed the exhaust is completely shafted rear and mid sections, there are little oil leaks all over, the NSF tyre has wear on its outside edge and the prvious owner has worn the locking wheel key! Thats just the bits I didn't already know...

As far as my case is concerned, visited Land Rover this morning and they told me... Leave it like this! The Gear box works in Low Range just fine and that light is just cosmetic. Sure they told me they could have a look but they said that is not worth the trouble.... :confused:
