I've just fitted P38 wheels and adapters to my D1 V8.
Problem is that I have just taken it for a test drive and I have a very bad wobble as if the wheels are going to fall off.

Wheels were balanced off the car. Then fitted.

Any ideas.

Thank you in advance.

What sort of adapters?

Have you jacked it up to make sure they are still seated and tightened correctly? Could try swapping front to rear and see if makes a difference.

Bulldog. I'll take it round to the local garage tomorrow morning as they are due me a favour.

Bulldog Hubcentric adapters, yes using the nuts that came with them. And using wheel nuts that came with the hurricanes.

I think the first thing to check is are the wheels and spacers seared correctly. You’ll need to lift be wheel off the ground to make sure it isn’t loose.

You need to do this to check it’s safe to drive. If a wheel is not seated correct it could easily shear the studs and fall off. Make sure all the bits are torqued down.

If this is ok, swap front to rear and see if it makes a difference. If it does then it could be the wheel balance.

If not it might be something else. Check there is no play on the hub or normal play in the wheel bearing. It is possible for the flange bolts to come loose on the hub.

Putting on spacers and wider rims may simply be highlighting an issue that was already present.

I have swapped over the front to rear wheels, I took off the hub adapters and checked all around for crud. They all sit flush and perfectly. All torqued up to correct lb ft. Checked the tyre pressures were ok. Took for a spin around the block and it wobbles all over the place at 35mph plus.
The local garage are going to rebalance them for me this week. I might end up putting my 16" wheels back on...:mad::mad::mad:
