hi guys, ive got a 96 p 38, a bit hard to start when its cold, and a bit of smoke, just on start up, fitted one of those hot fix kits, now it seams to have a wee hic up when running, seams to cut out , for a second, then go on , has anyone got any ideas, or fixs, please.

Try some diesel injector cleaner - lots of choice in Halfords, might stop the smoking as well with a bit of luck. In my case I also had some contamination (water) in the fuel causing this 'misfire' finally completely cured by another additive - Wynns Dry Fuel , again from Halfords. Good luck :)

Why would you fit a Hot Fix to cure cold starting. Check your glow plugs. Check ECU temp sensor.

Remove the hot start fix and see if the problem goes away. Then as Wammers said sort the glowplugs out to fix the cold start problem.
