If it has metal inside the gripping edge you can tap it lightly with a hammer to close the gap and it'll grip once againDid my headlining a few weeks back, but ran out of time on the sunroof shade.
Finally got it fitted today, but having a problem with the trim that goes around the sunroof hole & holds the headliner in place. It's fine either side & the rear, but along the front nearest the wind deflector the trim refuses to stay attached. It pushes onto the headliner & metal edge ok, but will not hold. I'm assuming it's lost the ability to grab ?
Wondering if I need something to stick it into place, or look for another trim ?
You could add Martrim to the list of fabric suppliers. https://www.martrim.co.uk/
Used them when I redid my Classic h/l.
Sounds like a very convenient service that saves a lot of time and faffif you ever bridgend way ,theres a lad there that keeps fully recovered headlinings, post covers ,you book a time he strips yours out fits new one ,keeps your old one . cracking job ,reasonable as well
but if you have never done it before then its easy to crack the brittle/aged plasticsAn easy afternoon's work as I recall. Easier with 2 people as almost all jobs are.
