Stuck my old p38 on the side of the road yesterday and it sold in 45minutes. After 18months of ownership with no real issues worthy of note the heater packed in during the buyers test drive, this didnt put him off tho. Its sold for £450 more than I paid for it 18months ago which was also a pleasant surprise. Its been replaced with a L322 v8 vogue se which appears to be a few mpg better on fuel. It seems a nice car just a bit of an oil leak issue to sort out on the engine.

What year??

if 2002-2005 then check your PCV system...oil leaks on the M62 is not common....

Whats the pcv ? My 1st post in a while the sites saying I am a new member for some reason. All my old threads are gone.
The PCV is the Crankcase Ventilation system...it consists of the PCV valve mounted on the back of the intake manifold...the diaphram inside this splits and can cause pressure to build up in the crancase and oil starts to be blown out of places.....commonly the early signs are oil in the spark plug wells.....

Changing it is not hard, just access is a right sod as it is on the back of the engine...

That looks like fun. I will get it cleaned up diagnosed and report back. The oil seems to be coming from the front, rocker gaskets have been done but theres some black sealant just above the aircon pump, I dont know why as yet.

Bit late for that. I need better advice lol. A good recommendation for a replacement / recon engine maybe ? I dont know where to start.

Seems it has a crack in the head for some reason .
How has this been diagnosed??

The M62 is a solid engine....heads only go if it has been overheated at some point....

Instead of replacing whole engine, just replace the head body and transfer over the cams and etc....
